ENIGMA is a cybersecurity platform focusing on threats from the rapidly growing base of systems and devices that lie beyond traditional IT: Operational Technology (OT). IoT:
- OT systems built over decades running industry, energy, transport, now converging with IT
- Billions of new “IoT” devices that are “always-connected” to IT but not visible to IT security
All three companies on the platform offer solutions built to “Zero Trust” principles
- Zero Trust model is gaining traction despite the need for upgrades to current cybersecurity In 2021, a Presidential Order mandated the entire federal government adopt it
- Rare Zero Trust validation with ENIGMA’s Onclave becoming the first communications platform ever to receive an Authority to Operate (“ATO”) from the government for Zero Trust
With exhaustive testing by leading companies from healthcare to the auto sector, ENIGMA expects to close licensing deals in Q1 that could scale to securing millions of devices
Zero trust – a shift in mindset
America’s cybersecurity gets worse each year despite spending billions on it. In 2021, the President signed an Executive Order mandating the government adopt a different approach to cyber called Zero Trust, spurring private sector adoption too. Adopting Zero Trust, however, is not simple, with federal spending on it rising from $800M in 2023 to $12B in 2024.
ZERO TRUST IN NOT A SINGLE TECHNOLOGY BUT A FRAMEWORK
IT SHIFTS THE FOCUS OF CYBERSECURITY FROM:
KEEP BAD ACTORS OUT
BUT TRUST THOSE INSIDE
TO
NOP ONE CAN BE TRUSTED, INSIDE OR OUT CONTINUOUS ID CHECKS ON ALL TRAFFIC
ENIGMA brings together 3 companies that are both Zero Trust and OT/IOT-focused, differentiating it in the market, as seen in this Gartner chart. ENIGMA’s interests in the companies starts with Option3’s earlier stakes which it is contributing to ENIGMA.
In August 2024, ENIGMA acquired the rest of Onclave and is in talks with the others.
