Rich Armour Joins Technology Board of Option3

Security System News, NEW YORK – Specialist cybersecurity private equity firm Option3 have announced that veteran chief information security officer Rich Armour has joined their technology board.

Option3 is hoping the addition of Armour will, “…offer insight and strategic direction on the firm’s investment strategy.” The appointment coincides with a period of growth for Option3 for its C2 mid-market Cybersecurity Private Equity fund and focused investments in a variety of areas like military contracting and insurance.

To that end Option3 says Armour brings with him a wealth of knowledge from his time working as a CISO at Hewlett Packard from 2014-2019 and General Motors from 2010-2012. “Rich brings a real world CISO perspective that can only come from decades on the front line of cybersecurity,” said Option3 Founder and Managing Partner, Manish Thakur. “He joins us at an important time for Option3 as we set strategies and review investments for our C2 cyber mid-market fund. We especially honor his service in the U.S. Air Force, particularly given today’s more hostile global environment, and our own increased investment in the defense sector.” Thakur noted that Armour led the team which developed the first Department of Defense-wide standard IT architecture.

“I am very pleased to be joining the Option3 team, particularly as the Technology Board sets strategies for the C2 Fund and scales up opportunities in priority areas such as defense where I can add value,” said Armour. “Option3’s approach to the market is based on the practical needs of the CISO, not the technologist, and this is reflected in its focus on the mid-market where the champions and platforms of tomorrow will be created.”

Amour is a veteran of 20 years serving between 1972 and 1992, he also worked as the Information Technology Director for Dell Computers between 2000 and 2005. Based in New York and Reston, West Virginia, Option3 combines experience from decades of capital investment with knowledge from U.S. national security. You can find them online at option3.com.
